I believe all children should be given the opportunity to be an independent kid to the best of their abilities. My goal is to help each child achieve this by giving them the support and tools needed to help them enjoy and experience childhood with all the exploration and wonders despite obstacles in their path. This can come in the form of medication, orthotics, equipment, etc. Childhood is a time of wonder, imagination, and exploration and all children should have this opportunity with as little hindrance as possible.
Given my training and experience, I am skilled at caring for children with many special needs including but not limited to:
- Cerebral Palsy
- Spina Bifida / Myelomeningocele
- Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI)
- Down Syndrome / Trisomy 21
- Genetic or Chromosomal Abnormalities
- Autism
- Stroke
- Neuromuscular Disorders
- Developmental Delay
- Toe Walking
I also have additional training in General Movements Assessment (GMA) which allows for early identification and therefore treatment of neurological problems in infants.
Family is everything to me. I have the kindest most loving husband and we have been blessed with three beautiful boys. All three are now in elementary school and involved in all activities from band and orchestra to art and sports. We love to take adventures as a family and go on road trips and mountain bike rides. If I’m not at work, chances are you’ll find me playing with my boys!
I am a very active person and I love to do anything outdoors! I have a hard time sitting still and prefer to be outside exploring no matter what the weather. In the summer I spend my time mountain biking, hiking, and splashing in the lake. In the winter, I love to go skiing, both cross-country and downhill. In my downtime, I also enjoy art: I love to draw, paint, crochet, sew… really anything as long as it has vibrant bright colors! In times I need to be less messy, you will find me absorbed in a Lego creation.
